Re: Eighties Contest Entry: 1988 McLaren MP4/4 (and Introduction)

Hi Joel

Well there's a thread back from the dead :-) I haven't "stopped"...the build is more like on an extended coma :-) It's still in the state i last showed but at some point i'll get back to it. This is not the only build i have to carry on with, but for now i'll stick to the Jordan 191 i'm working on.

I've been following your Jordon build as well. Equally fantastic stuff. Like I said, your skill level is on another planet from the rest of us.

Just in case you're wondering why I brought back your MP 4/4 Thread from it's hibernation, well, it's simply because after nearly a 30 year layoff from car modeling, I once again got the itch. So all the builds, etc are not only new to me, but a fantastic learning tool. I just can't believe how far the hobby has come since I last built a kit.

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: 1988 McLaren MP4/4 (and Introduction)

I have just gone through this thread again! It is like a drug!
The Jordan is just outstanding aswell.
Jaykay do you think you will finish this one off? It is just unbelievable!

I am getting all fired up to have a crack at the MP4/6 with the PPDK but I have not built anything for a while and wanted to have a really good crack at superdetailing an MP4/5b as a warm up.
There is plenty of ideas that I can take from this thread and Bils MP4/6

But if any one knows where I can find or if they can supply some great reference shots for the MP4/5b it would be greatly appreciated?

Hey there jaykay, greetings from Australia. Have you resurrected this excellent piece of modelling. So much looking forward to seeing more progress.
