Actually, my 'thinking out loud' guess doesn't make much sense as Yamaha were preparing their own supercar at a similar point in time with the OX99-11.

I know that Ferrari was on the list of manufacturers capable of building the engine, but were disqualified for obvious reasons. Since Mr B question specifically says "name the 4 engine builders approached to submit designs for the F1" then I guess I am stumped.

NICE!! I think I remember seeing your XJ220TWR at a Coys Historic Festival a few years back at Silverstone? If so, I think it was the same day I saw #012R Road Registered N753HRV pootling around the paddock area.....
