Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

Whatcha whining about Joe? Try the international shipping charges to Australia on for size! Still works out way cheaper that buying from the Oz importer though.

And they send via UPS and I hate them (UPS has a pretty weird way to deliver your package) but.... they still beat the price I can found in hobby shop here !!

That's the main reason for every (Ok, most of em) thread to exist... informations !

Compressors are pretty varied but most of the poeple here (including me) tend to buy quite big compressor with a tank. Every brand I can think of... Campbell Hausfeld, Sears, Coleman, DeWalt, Porter Cable.... (you name it)... look at the best deal in your hardware store. They aren't quiet though and if silence is what you seek, Iwata and other airbrush brand offer little air compressor but most of them will run as long as you shoot which isn't the case with an air compressor with a tank.

Lets be rassured, any compressor is better than those "air cans" and will deliver better performance too. I think my discover of the Airbrush really came when I bought my compressor ! Before, it was a real pain... anyway, I used almost an air can just to clean the thing so it wasn't very productive.

Re: Re: Re: Tamiya or Aztek Airbrush's

Hello, I received one of the airbrush's i bought online. Its the Badger 100SGF which I bought for 45 dollars including shipping. I want to know how do i put paint it. It has a little hole ontop with nothing to cover up. How does it function?

That's where the paint goes... the SG is a extremely fine airbrush and has no real cup but that hole with no cover (that's why I always keep a set of pipette near my "Airbrush Workshop"). No cover is to see how much paint you still have and to blend you color by adding another color while you're airbrushing. It's a gravity feed so the gravity will keep the paint in, but you'll have to work horizontaly. It's design to do illustrations... isn't that what you want ??

It's the same thing with most of the "illustration airbrush"... like the Iwata HP-A for exemple. Those airbrushes are not ment to cover a lot of ground but to work on very fine details so a cup just block your vision in those case plus most of the time you won't spend a lot of paint on fine details so why botter with a cup ?! If you want a cup, you should have the 100G instead which have a 1/16oz cup or a 100 which has a side cup so it let you see what you're doing.

Right now i have 2 airbrush's sitting next to me. I returned the messed up Iwata with the receipt of the new one and kept the new one for free I'll be getting 6 paasche VL's soon since the payment just finished clearing for it on EBAY. But 5 of the 6 i have already sold to two of my friends They just loved the idea. So in the end i'll have 3 by the end of December. 3 Airbrush's in 3 month's. Hopefully this wont go on for long since my parents are yelling at me for all of this (They are the ones who pay)
