Re: Cars I RAPED!!!

I'd like to slap some drag radials on the SS and see what it'd do to that 13.0. I'm thinking 12.85's or better. Shit 12's on a near stock car that pulls 26 MPG on the highway, I can live with that.

Re: Cars I RAPED!!!

IF a guy can launch an M6, it will beat an A4 stock v stock. But guys that can drive a stick like that are hard to find.

There's a few M6 diehard racers out there, but most go with an A4 cause it will whoop ass if properly setup.

You'd really like to know what your SS would run with an M6? How bout throwing in a 3500 stall which is very streetable and finding out? A4 + stall = GOOD STUFF! See that vid I posted? That's what a stall will let you do. I can lay rubber @ 35 and bark 'em @ 40.

I just throw it in D, brake it to 3k and let her eat. I've got it on video with 4" of daylight under the tires.

Yep, just remember to remove any rubber deposits from the rear fenders when you take the car to have the rearend replaced under warranty.

Re: Cars I RAPED!!!

Right now at 33 MPH or less if I stomp it the car will drop down to first and bake the tires bad shift to second and bark em hard going into 2nd. I'm contemplating a 3500 stall actually. But I'd like to wring out what I can of the stock setup first.

WOW, your stock ss is going to be faster than the new C6 Corvette.

I have well over 200 - 1.6* 60ft passes on my stock rear w/o any probs. That's another thing I like about autos; they're easier on the rear. But really, I think (hope) I received a good stock rear. Some break fast, some don't, either way, it is inevitable.

I'd like to speculate that with your M6=11.40@126 mph. Taking that 126 and knocking off a very conservative 5mph additional drietrain loss, it would go high 10's/low 11's with an auto. 60ft's wold be in the 1.5-1.4 range. Anybody disagree?

For some reason, if I nail it from a 40 punch, they bark good and hook. But if I'm already in 2nd and roll into it, I can lay rubber up to about 60mph.

10.5talon, what kind of launch are you using? I had a best of 1.89 on my Goodyear F1's in stock trim. I could pull 1.90-1.92 60fts all day. Brake to 1500 and hammer it.

Re: Cars I RAPED!!!

Stock original tires, shit 60 FT, my 13.0 I had a 1.95, but this string of 13.1's I only pulled 2.0's. Best times were without a brake stand actually. Do a hard burnout, stage right away, hit it at the second yellow from idle. The track isn't exactly a fast track.

I'd be willing to bet that I could run a 10.something with a good set of slicks. The stock rear wouldn't like it though. I've never actually launched the car as hard as I can with the current setup cause I know that even drag radials would probably break it, and I don't have the spare cash for a 9" or a 12 bolt at the moment. BTW, the truck I'm building will be for street/track abuse, and it's definately going to be an auto.

Oh, have you tried just turning the tires over a few times and launching that way? Most 17" street tires I've used tend to get slippery when you heat them up alot. Just a thought.

That explains the 11.40.

I agree. Just clean them off and that's it. Barely any smoke.

Yeah, the car has lots of suspension work. I know I can cut a better 60' (especially with some good sticky tires), but like I said, no cash for a new rearend at the moment.

Lets see...

Tubular lower control arms with relocation brackets
Adjustable pan hard bar
Eibach springs 1.5" drop
Mad man adjustable torque arm set at -2*
Edelbrock sub frame connectors (welded)
3.5" aluminum driveshaft
Poly bushings
Driveshaft loop
Bigger sway bars
Strut tower brace

Re: Cars I RAPED!!!

Just turning em over I was getting like 2.07 60 ft's. By smoking em I cut that to consistent 2.0. But as I said, this track is not a fast track it requires a bit different launch, the starting line is a mess. When I tried a brake stand at like 1500 the car spun too much so I just took off from idle.

I believe at a prepped pro track this car would turn a very high high 12 if launched correctly.
