The caption included with it is a bit of a fib though:

Funny - the last time photos of this car appeared on Flickr the photographer stated the car was in Malaysia.

Seems no one can ever get the story straight with this car as it is most definitely still in Singapore. I've asked the photographer if he can share any more photos without letting on that anything is amiss with his description. Hopefully he will come through - I'd love to get a shot of the interior in this car as that's something I haven't seen yet.

Imagine that.

I didn't even read the sign. I was too captivated by the lovely image I guess.

It's quite hard to read the writing on the sign - what does it say?

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

On march 24th I was at the MP4-12C presentation for the Netherlands at the (beautiful) Lowman Museum, and there was no F1
Off course I asked different people about the new car, but also about the F1.
The reason why there wasn't a F1 was clear: because all MP4-12's are sold out for this year already, and next year is going fast too.
They don't want to give the enveilings so much glamour to take their (historic) car(s); interested buyers could be too enthousiastic while delivery of their new toy takes a while.
Very nice position for McLarenAutomotove if you don't need your history to prove you 've made a new car which is a competetor for the current benchmarks in class like the F458, 911turbo and SLS.
Although it was good to have seen and sat in the car, got the e-mails with (tech) info, and the official sales brochure.

I can only read the upper portion clearly and a few of the smaller pieces of text:

Quote:
McLAREN F1

YEAR 1994

CHASSIS # 16

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT

Originally supplied to Japan...

...only F1 painted Aubergine Pearl.

The F1 _________ the McLaren road car DNA: low weight, ...

yadda, yadda, yadda
I left a request with Chester to see if he snapped more photos of the F1. So far no reply.

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

The rest of the world thread appears disappointingly left out in the thread posts, with all 4 other recap threads seeing update in the last 24 hours.

So, here's some #009 images I never got around to releasing....

^Images taken at Duttons whilst the car was on temporary display.

^At Crown Casino 2008

^Crown Casino again, 2009. This was the last time I've seen this car.

^ I would love to see if anyone has a clearer picture of this, the inner writing on the speakers on the dashboard. Apparently I was too preoccupied at the time to focus on getting the photo right, so this is the best example I have...

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

Wonderful of you to take the time to pull these from your archive Daan.

Not to look a gift-horse in the mouth, but if you ever feel like doing the same with any extra photos of #016 you might have... well, of course we'd appreciate that too.
