Re: 3000GT's very own Off-Topic Thread! Part DEUX

What? I don't understand what you're talking about.

::edit:: I almost forgot. I just got home a few minutes ago, me and my friend Julian decided to go cruising around. Anyways, we're on the highway, so obviously we have to do some pulls. He'd already told me that he's not getting much power, and it feels like theres a lot of lag up til 5K rpms, and he redlines at 6k. We line up, no honks, just go. He jumps a bit, and then I pull on him. Hard. I'm talking 5-6 car lengths in between 60 and 90. One thing we think might be holding him back is that he put the stock 6G72 injectors in when he did the 3.5l montero swap. So tomorrow we're switching those out and putting on a new downpipe, then we'll see how it goes tomorrow night. Any insight?

haha, you know you liked that one.

And in case anyone else is wondering, I was talking about flushing a radiator/coolant...not any weird kinky sexual or self-cleansing act.

Re: 3000GT's very own Off-Topic Thread! Part DEUX

ya, David, you know you got Owned. man up to it. S.O.H.C. yes, i know.

hey, you guys seen that new thread with another new guy who wants to buy a crapped out 3S? here are my thoughts i refrained from posting in his thread:

***honestly, why does EVERY new person on the forums always want to get a 3000GT/Stealth that is in CrApPy condition and fix it up? why not just wait for a better one to come around? its no fun having to pour MORE money into a car you just bought in order to make it road worthy. THEN you have to think about routine maintenance=more money. gosh! i think some people..errr...MOST people are just S-T-U-P-I-D.********

but that's just my 2 cents.

i kinda wanted to keep my mouth shut about this, but since i don't have the money right now, i can't jump on it. so i wanted to reveal to anyone thinking of upgrading from stock turbos, a GREAT deal i found here.

13T's baby.

Saw those 13Ts earlier...if I had hte money I would have already jumped on them too. All in good time though. So Linebckr, are we to assume you have plans to TT your base? With 13Ts that would be quite the beast from a roll.

Oh, hey, those are Seans. Isn't he the skinny asian guy that looks kinda nerdy? I remember being at Adams when he was trying to get his new piping in. Not bad for 13t's. I might have to pick them up at the gathering

Re: 3000GT's very own Off-Topic Thread! Part DEUX

i keep going back between the two: "tt convo?" or "na power?"...reminiscent of "boost loves me" or "boost love me not".

i don't have the money right now to do a TT conversion. but i think i've been persuaded by others. honestly, i'd love to get a VR4 someday, but keep my NA too, and i don't see that happening in the next 3-5 years, so tt conversion for me. BUT, i need to keep it at daily driver (or get a beater honda ftw!) reliability and boost levels. all in all, i heart boost, but i don't wanna destroy my engine. i can do with blow transmissions (b/c now i've work on them enough to know how to fix what), but engines are just too expensive.

and i'd definitely go with turbos larger than 9b's. 13t's are nice bang for the buck (especially at the price Sean3S is selling them).

but i just want to learn more about air/fuel/timing tuning first. with my taller 5th gear, i've dropped about 500 rpms in 5th gear cruising on the highway, but i know i could save MORE gas by getting an AFC and leaning out the fuel at low load/low rpms. so that's probably what's next on my list (of course, after i get the cosmetics, little things, AND those sexy HID bi-xenon pop-ups done).

ya, Sean is the skinny asian guy from Houston. last i saw his car, the yellow paint (probably stock) looked like crap. but i think he's fixed that, and i don't know what turbos he's running now, b/c he's obviously selling the 13t's. i wanna say he went td05, but not sure.

Re: 3000GT's very own Off-Topic Thread! Part DEUX

I'm pretty sure he went TD05 because of the piping he was installing. But I can't be sure.

Anyhow, 6 days. I'm excited.
