Re: New Project.......1/12 Scale 1969 Camaro
Sanding of the body will start tomorrow and take a few days to complete. There are a few molded badges that need to be sanded out so the photo-etched parts can be added in.
These will be sanded out first with a 600 grit followed by 800 then 1000. Other mold lines which include door locks/handles/turn signals well be sanded out and the whole body then sanded and finished off with a 2000 before a primer added. ![]()

Re: New Project.......1/12 Scale 1969 Camaro
Spent a week so far on the sanding of the body trying to get it smooth etc.
Started with a 400 grit just to remove a couple of bad seem lines, then sanded out all the badges and turn signals. This was then followed by 600 grit over these areas to help smooth out. A small amount of filler was added to the key locks as the molding had sunken into the plastic and needed filling. Once this was dry, the whole car was very lightly sanded with 800 grit. A heavy amount of primer was sprayed on where all all the badges were removed, before sanding out again with 800grit paper. (The primer was used as a filler and also to check for a smooth finish). After lightly priming the areas again, the whole car was sanded with 1000, followed by 1200 grit to the stage it is at now. The car will be given two more sandings with 1500 and lastly with a 2000 before a final primer is sprayed on. ![]()
