Don't feel bad. They don't feel anything (for long anyway) and they taste delicious!

yes they do yeah i've only went deer and elk hunting. not sure if i wanna go bear hunting. it triped me out when my grandpa told me that the bullet from a 9mm handgun would ricochet of a bears skull

i also heard that when bear hunting, they can actually hunt you at the same time, no?

Yeah - bears are nothing to hunted cautiously. There prone to come after you after being shot (asuming they were at most wounded) as opposed to elk or deer which bolt for cover. Your grandpa is right. A nine isn't going to crack the skull of a bear. Its alwasy a good idea to keep a .44 or larger at your side - just in case.

A friend of mine from Wisconson had to get up a tree once while bear hunting. The bear started up the tree after him and he pulled out is 45 and shot the bear right out of the tree.

If it makes you feel any better, consider all the salmon that were saved because that bear is no longer around to eat them.

I'm already married. Thus, hunting is the way to go. Besides, if you hunt and fish, you always have the best food in the neighborhood and people come to your house for dinner parties. And as for animals suffering, that's why you learn to be a good shot. A well-shot animal never knows what hits them. They just fall over in the dead or run about twenty yards out of pure reflex. If you buy a gun, get a Browning. I have had nothing but success bird-hunting with my BPS Pump. My dad has a Browning .308, which is kind of a wussy gun, but is still nice. If you want a nice gun, get a .30-06. Not only is it accurate, but it has enormous knockdown power. Or just for kicks, get two .45's lol.

Re: 3000GT's very own Off-Topic Thread!

same satisfaction lion gets when it kills one. we eat it and all the chicken and porkchops and hamburgers you eat, guess what it was a animal and was slaughtered probably worse then we do as hunters. unless your a vegetarion your ? is sorta goofy
