Thanks. Never done any of this before... all new to me. That's why I'm hoping badly this thing runs right. And the tools I just pick up as I need. I'm cheap.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Haven't been to the garage once this week yet, so I'm little behind. Been working a lot as always. Have to finish a project up by 10/31, which will pay for a good amount of this project

-Ordered a new piece of pipe to make a new downpipe when the motor goes in.
-Ordered a set of RC Racing High Imp. 750cc Injectors

Still have to find some good bolts to use for the turbo. Anyone know what sizes work for a garrett? The ones I have for the IM are just a little too narrow.

I still plan on dropping in the motor on Saturday. But because of the delay on the FIs, startup may be sometime next week.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Here's some pics that my Mom ended up taking while I was welding the strut tower. I know people love pics so here's some.

After I tached the sheet metal into place. Was still bending.

Torching the sheet metal to take shape to the tower.

Weldind it in

Doing some more welding from inside the bay.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Is the motor still going in today? Good luck man its a PITA to get the input shaft lined up with that clutch disc. Also be very sure to torque the flywheel bolts down to 95lbs AND locktight them. Pressure plate bolts are 168 INCH lbs. Put a little bit of greese on the input shaft but just a tad and more will fly off when you start it up and could possibly get on your clutch disk and cause it to slip. One more thing, when you do finally get the tranny input shaft in slide it up all way and put a bolt in the top of it. DO NOT let the tranny hang off the side of the motor when trying to get your bolts together and shit. This can warp a clutch disk which will cause it not to release and chatter really bad. Hope it all goes smoothly

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Motor made it in today!!!
What a day, that's all I can say. Was at the garage for 13 hours today! What a day. My mom took a ton of pics today so I'll have more posted up in the next couple days.

The fuel injectors came in yesterday. Got some RC Racing 750cc high-impendence. Got those in the rail, and wired them all up. Came with all new O-Rings and everything.

Bought a new alternator and a bunch of stuff. Got it all together. Sadly, a lot of stuff had to come off in order to get the thing in the bay. Retarded.

Rented a hoist at a local place. And got her mounted. Clutch is torqued at 95lbs and did the pressure plate as stated above. Thank god for Jason having his phone on him.

Sexiness is the key word on this pic.

It took a long ass time to get the motor in the bay. The thing just did not want to mate up to the tranny. Was getting aggregated badly. As the motor was on the hoist, I bough all new chain (2500lb-er ) and new clamps. Sadly, I only bought 2. I used the locking c-clamp things (2 of them) for top of the hoist where it lifts up. While getting the motor in the 3rd time, the 2 on the both snapped and flew off. The motor was literally just hanging on. I was so pissed I rush to hardware store, set motor on the car, and redid the clamps. VERY close call on that.

Later that night, was working on it again and one of the studs in holding in the mount on the exhaust side snapped off. So again, motor was hanging by nothing but 1 bolt on that side. Luckily, we made it happen. So now another stud is broken in the head... while I just fixed the other broken one today.

Had so many problems trying to get the thing on to the tranny. I forgot to remove the lower tranny shield, so I was basically crushing that while trying to get the motor in. Stupid. Then once the drive shaft was in the clutch, it was impossible to rotate the motor to match the bolts up. Such a pain in the ass.

Where she sits as of 10pm tonight. Right now it's all mounted, just missing the front and rear motor mounts, but those will go in tomorrow.

I live in Fort Collins, going to CSU. I was commenting on the fact that we never get rust here so i dont have to deal with annoying shit like the strut towers.

Looks great man.

Nope never painted. I tried once before, just money was a problem. I'm all go before show.

I have rims from before that I'm going to get new rubber for next year and then drop it down 2". I hate those wheels now, but makes it a total sleeper. Won't be til next year though.
