You do that and I'll find a way to stitch it together for the perfect wallpaper.

That's really awesome - thanks for sharing!!

The elusive pic finally appears

I have known of this pic for a very long time, Michael Cane GTC Motorsport told me the story behind this photo shoot, it took alot of effort and time from his guys to put this together. With no reward from the agency who did the photography, they did not even have the courtesy to send him any photo,s of the shoot, some people have no respect, which I find disgusting. As time rolled on, you must remember Michael was a busy man running a race team, no time for chasing after pics. When Michael was summoned to race control at Mangy Cours race circuit one race weekend, what was hanging on the wall in all its glory, yes this pic, poster size, fully framed.

Roll on time a bit further, I met up with staff from the circuit when they had a stand at the Autosport show, they said they knew of the picture but it had been taken down due to decorating, but could not find any trace of it.

So all was lost until now, many thanks Arjan, Great find.

Would you be so kind to post the magazine cover, name, date of issue, many thanks in advance.

As McLaren showed 01R in some action today I thought to remind how it started its quest for glory some 18 years ago!

Not really a scan - but a great read on a nice piece of history:

Re: The truly great scan thread started by Sauc3

Believe that used to be a feature in the GTR Articles scan thread, but appears the images are MIA.

Probably from here: Racecar Engineering: June 1996

Was a whole article on the 1996 F1 GTR featuring 12R or 15R.

I think Erik is right. I have the magazine. I can check it later to day. Now have to go to work.
Good story how they did it, good facts about 1995 Le Mans, where Gordon says, that the 1995 Le Mans winner GTR's engine was internally unchanged, of course some water/cooling/oil pumbs were added a bit stronger parts.

That's pretty good story to get. If you find one, buy one. Of course those scans are good but the magazine will offer also Gordon's interview about his career that point, if I remember right.
