That is/was my plan. The pics here are a test fit. Before I gouged the seats to pieces, I wanted to see how the inserts would look.

Micha, I haven't glued it yet (see above) but if I decide to go with these, then yes, I will forst remove some/all of the original pattern.

Why? You have plenty of extra time now since you won't be doing your 250 or 365...

I am sure Jamme, that you will do this a lot better I am just sorry that I had to do mine BEFORE yours

Thanks for your encouragement guys.
I am thinking about how to make this better and I will take it through to the end if only to learn something in the process.

@Steven
I already converted the seats of my 2nd 612 to Daytona-style some time ago. To cut out the inner parts is the easiest way to me.

@Gio
Didnīt you get my pm or just no desire to reply?
Would have copy them for you two.

I am pretty aware that nobody will believe me if I say, iīm about 500km away from my home right now and showing pictures wonīt be possible this week, but itīs a fact, sorry. If you donīt believe me, you may ask Voyageur and sportracer02 they both saw those seats last year in Oct. at Frankfurt.
I only like your project and would have been glad to help, didnīt thought it would get that serious in here that anyone had to boast about something.
If you are that curious, iīll promise some pics as soon as iīm back home.
Iīm sure you wonīt be disappointed.

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Hey Julian!

I have a feeling that my joking with you backfired on me

I didn't think that you were boasting in the dictionary sense of the word. I for SURE believe you and have NO DOUBT that I would/will learn a great deal from you and - and I don't need to ask anyone

Sorry if my bad joke was taken the wrong way. It just goes to show that internet communication can be dangerous and lead to misunderstandings some times.

Sorry again (and again and again and....)

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Hi,

seeing Julianīs seats made of plastic stripe -at the Frankfurt Model Show in October- made me say "Wow - I make this for my 612, too"

So Steve, I think, you and Julian had he same idea and the same starting point. You made a resin copy of it, interesting when you intend not to make just one model.

I donīt think that there is a difference on the finished seats.

I have seen Julian's seats in Frankfurt, too. I do think there is a difference, though.
The horizontal "ribs" on Julian's seats are much more evenly spaced than Steven's (sorry Steven ).

This thread definitely has a high fun-to-read-factor. opcorn: opcorn: opcorn:
I enjoy reading it every time I open it

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Hey damsels, do your gossip in the generic area LOL J/K,

oki some progress, interior not finished but I like to show something before is too late to shoot details:

well when I taken in a hand interiors I started to thinks something tho avoid the "black stain" effect: in fact my scangi have whole black leather ulphostery... well I tried to rend different anels with different shades of black, at naked eye the effect seem quetly convincing.

steering weel sub-assy:

driver seat:

(well I have to do the asshole if not I'm not gionc so I forgot a couple of PE shape I expressly designed.... well hope to fix it soon, I have to re-built the heatrest mount... grrrrrr)

and... isn not the case to lost alone in deep china.... Ladies and Gentlemen working poket with.. China and Mongolia map LOL

.. this (520) pony have also a key to switch on

well fitting test: I need to detail the whole rear seats with grills and vents and some other touch, like manual gear stick (don't know if I'll fix the 6 speed selector... grrrrrr)

Hoping to be able to do better picts soon... BTW, thought?

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Nope Steve: I mean a couple of parts to use in the heatrest backing, I have to detail yet the whole rear section, but vent and its ring are ready

BTW I was lucky enoughto wait to mount the second seat so... less job to re-do

Re: Ping & Pong present: Two VERY Red Ferraris

Hello Pong, your works made me dumb every time. The seat looks really like pulled out from the real car, the belt feeder is awesome! And what's the material you used for the belt? that's quite realistic! Looks soft and stretchy. Much better than the sixpenny adhesive tape on someone's stuff. and I love the key a lot!!! Make me one dozen please~~~~ I guess it's very close to its born now! Keep up!!! Look forward to that!!!
