Went to the Dallas Auto Show last night... boy was I drooling!
I'm really thinking if I don't end up buying another Civic, I'm going to save up and get a Golf R32... that thing was SWEET! Also looked real hard at the Scion Xb... looked bad ass from the outside, but when I got in the drivers seat, it felt like I was sitting in a truck... low floor board, and the seats put you up real high over the road... kinda like in a truck.
Also sat in this truck... the Chevy Kodiak C4500... was a monsterous thing which was basically a semi-tractor's chassis with a pick up bed on the back... required a good climb to get into the drivers seat. And this being Texas... I'm sure I'll see someone driving that truck around before too long.
Whole show was pretty bad ass though. Even though my wish list isn't nearly as long as I thought it would be.

hey dude..i am in the middle of this "upgrade" - I plan to do it with my swap. I have already pulled all the parts from the donor car at the junkyard...it took me two afternoons, one with a buddy, although he was mostly just fuckin' off.
Check out this link..it is very helpful, and reminds you of stuff you might normally miss. He doesn't get into the wiring detail, but I would assume that you will need to almost create your own wire bundle and use a Helm's manual anyway. the hardest part related to the pulling of parst was removing the dash to get the pedal assembly out of the car, but by the looks of your avatar, you've already done that once ro twice before

Since I have a DX, I took the whole LX cluster, and plan to swap that in so I don't have all the issues and custom fabrication with the indicator light..I hope I remembered to grab the dimmer circuit and all that business so I don't have this bright-ass green light at night - all my parts are sitting in a box in the garage waiting for me to install them

Thanks much for that link sastanley! That's exactly what I was looking for. Doesn't look as hard as I was thinking it was going to be, sept for the having to snag the pedal assembly too... next problem will be finding a donor car... that's going to be the toughest part for me...
Hmm.... I wonder if I could cannibalize a newer civic for parts...
And yes... the dash and everything is still in pieces, so I may as well do this mod before I put it all back together

I need to vent a little. It's been a TOUGH week.

My mom woke me up at 3am this morning and told me her and my stepdad were on their way to the hospital cause my mom was in labor. You might be thinking "huh?"... well, my mom is 42 years old and about to have her 6th child. (I'm the oldest, at 22 years old)... so that's a little nerve racking... how would you like to be 20+ years older than your two youngest siblings?
At work this week, some of my fellow employees are getting jealous of me, because our bosses are starting to rely less on them and more on me... stuff they would normally go to my fellow employees for, they come running to me for... tasks and objectives that would normally be given to them, my bosses end up giving to me. As much as I'm having to do, it's starting to get a little overwhelming. Having trouble getting everything done in an 8 hour day that I need to do.
And as far as my car goes.. I picked up the caliper I'd ordered yesterday, and it turns out I got sent JUST the piston assembly, when I needed the complete caliper, assembled and everything. So now I have to return the part, get my money back, and just take the brake caliper apart completely and rebuild it myself.. I wasn't looking forward to that at all. Just more crap for me to have to do.

I'm just ready to pull my hair out this week and call it a day.

I suppose there's a bright side.. my CAI and Fuel pump came Via FedEX today.... and here are some pictures of me holding the newest addition to my family.

Don't ask me what his name is, because it's an italian name, and I can barely pronounce it correctly, let alone Spell it. I think it's something like Gianicarlo.
