Re: The Official Blazer Forum Off Topic Thread

I guess I should clarify for those that don't know..... dog hunting doesn't mean that you shoot dogs. You use the dogs to hunt the deer. The woods that are designated for dog hunting . are divided up in huge grids, with the grid lines being roads. You put the dogs on a set of fresh tracks, they find the deer and chase it barking to let you know were they are. You (with the help of several buddies with 4wds and CB radios) try to head them off and get in a location to take a shot at the deer.

Of all the types of hunting, this is the most unsportsman like, but it is a lot of fun, because inorder to get in front of the deer, you have to put you hunting truck through it's paces, often getting air born, knocking down trees, etc... It is pretty much a legal way to act like an idiot, and drive EXTREMELY recklessly.

The good chases last for hours.

I have two boxers, if you shoot one of them you won't have to worry about me coming after you, I don't think an arrow, a bullet, or cannon would stop either of them.

ps I knew what you meant about the dog hunting, just funny wording! I needed a good laugh!

Re: The Official Blazer Forum Off Topic Thread

I have a boxer as well and they are like little bulls. They are by no means as agile or stealth as some of the other dogs I have had but they charge and don't stop til they get where they intended to go, I also have a greyhound and shepard I am watching for my sister but I don't plan to keep. Anyway they dug a hole behind my fence in the backyard one day last week and all three got out running around the neighborhood and like most dogs that have never been hit by a car, they have no fear of them. So the boxer was running back and forth threw trafic on the local route that crosses my street when she ran out infront of a car that didn't have the time to stop. She went flying about 15 feet I would say and got up and ran off like nothing had happen. Took her to the vet and besides a scratch on her leg , the vet thought I was crazy when I had told her what had happen, saying that this dog shows no signs of any trauma but I saw it with my own eyes, as I was trying to catch her at the time.

Yea - I got ya. Up here in NY we can't hunt large game with dogs - or trucks! We do the drive ourselves by fannng out and "pushing" the deer into the path of designated shooters. I'm not a fan of it though, I had a close call...

Thanks, yeah she is a tough one. I would have probably been in the intensive care unit of the local hospital or the ground with the hit she took.

Wow I believe it! They are brother and sister twins. My Male weighs 125lbs. and the female is about 75lbs. They are big for boxers. The female is smart and sweet. The male it like a typical male. He eats, shits, barks, and above all sleeps! His snoring will wake the house! But he is like a rock! I always say he got all the braun she got all the brain. This is going to sound crazy but I have spent about 8K on him, he has had cancer and all kinds of issues but seems to be ok now. She had irritable bowel syndrome for the first 6 months I had her and at a year old weighed 25 lbs. Once a great vet diagnosed her properly she put on a ton of weight and was the dog I first bought. They are not complete with out each other. They are 100lb. lap dogs.

Dogs are definitely a lot tougher than people, I've seen some survive some terrible things. I watched my buddy's chihuahua get hit and it flew end over end for about 40 ft. and lived, after a long recovery.

Re: The Official Blazer Forum Off Topic Thread

I watched a dog get hit but a car when I was a kid. The car was going about 35 and hit the dog square in the face. It spun like a top, let out a loud yelp and went walking away. Tough bitch...

T-Shit - LOL!!!
