Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

I am really enjoying this thread too. It's amazing what our eagle-eyed members can figure out. Unfortunately, I would make a lousy detective...to me all white F1s look identical--the way you guys keep track of the details is fantastic!

Thanks for the pic bucciali. Its really amazing how many pics are left undiscovered because we don't really know what we're searching for. The pic you posted is on the 1st page of the google image search for "1999 cg club meeting west"

Re: Recap of Japanese F1 fleet

Heya guys,

I've edited my first post, to make for an up-to-date list of the Japanese F1 fleet! :-)

There's more pics, more cars (a total of 12 now!) and a new speculation (thanks Mini_Magic!)!

Check it here!

And to say it in a smiley:

And remember, we are still waiting for more info, so keep your eyes on this thread.

One question I still have now (may have been discussed somewhere else?):
Who bought #13R at Maranello Motorsport and where is it now?

My pleasure! I was quite happy to find that pic, but of course it was not through Google as you will expect. It was the fact that #031 was at this year's CG club meet that I started looking. Quite extraordinary to find a pic from that year in that resolution. Quite unusual.

But to add to your remark: there are also many pics left undiscovered because you simply cannot find them with just Google. But to give that away....

You might want to add my "probably's" to the list at the top of the main page:

Okamoto's white F1 is probably #031.

The Tag Heuer F1 is probably #012.

The yellow F1 from ELG is probably #060.

The Ueno-look road car is probably #043.

I see those things mentioned in the text below, but it couldn't hurt to have the included at the top as well. Up to you though, since it is your baby.

013R is on its way to England. I have no idea who bought it.

Peloton: will add the #'s to the list in a bit....

Mini_Magic: thanks for the info!

Didn't we have somebody who would pass by Maranello Motorsports by the way to photograph #16R?? Aussieslacker maybe?

Here's some more pics by the way of the F1 at Bingo Sport that I came across. NIce interior shots of the red floor mats.

sauc3 went by a day or two ago and found the place was closed and that #16R was no longer visible through the windows. He's the one who took the last set of photos of it.

Wow great photos even though they are small. That's quite a set of cars in their showroom too.

quite a set indeed, i love how the f1 out-shines them all though... it just commands your attention so much more, i maybe be biased though... but not likely, since we all know the f1 would get more attention than any other supercar when parked near eachother...

Their showroom? That'd be my garage if I won the lottery (aka Dream Stable!)

Anyway, as for the carpets ... sorry ... that smacks of the domain of 'chavs' - roughly translated as English pubescent wannabe kids, driving cars with less horsepower than your average lawnmower, but festooned with more add-ons than your common-or-garden porn queen!

REALLY NOT a tasteful F1 addition IMO!

I originally thought they could just be there to protect the carpets, but since the outer ones are cut to size specific for the F1s passenger footwells that kind of ruined my theory.

On thing that is strange though is that the one for the driver's pedal box seems to flap up over the bottom of the pedals. I wonder if that's safe or if it's just not meant to be driven with the floormat installed?

They are protective mats. The real ones are underneath.

You can see the black border of the floor mats reflecting light. The furthest floor mat (right passenger) is clearly a mat and not actual carpet. You can tell because it's lying on top of the real carpet with quite a gap.
