I know, once when the tub is done you can focus on the other sections.
You're absolutely right Jochen! With the interior tub done, this models are almost done!

Did you have a part number for the fire bottle "clamps"? also what switches did you use on the panels?
John, the part number of the Clamp set is EP0095.

For the panels, I used regular pin heads for the larger "Push" switches, Hobby Design switches (part HYDHD07-0025), Model Factory Hiro aluminum rivets (part MFHP911) and Scale Motorsport nuts and bolts (part 8117). The scale motorsports pieces were painted clear red to represent warning lights.

Thanks everybody for your interest!!

Apart the fittings a bit too thick, the rest is amazing. I like your approach to modifications, well, well done.

Thanks for sharing with us

John: Yes, I bought the complete body kit. I am waiting on the photo etch from HLJ and the wheels from Mike at Scale Productions.

you will not be sorry for getting Mike's wheels - best wheels out there for 1/24 - I'll never buy resin wheels again after seeing Mike's quality - I was a bit disappointed with the HD PE sets - not much is used because it's not for the RSR body also the brake rotors which I've built are tedious as hell for something not really seen - PE disc brake covers would have worked just as well as complete brakes. I just started a fourth kit - "BMW Z4 GT3" - not sure if I'll ever get these kits finished -lol - no I'm waiting for the PE for the BMW from HLJ - I need to get the bodies painted and decaled and that will give me motivation to finish the tubs and under-carriage. This GT3 Ferrari 458 I was working on I think is going to become a GT2 version - can't find enough detailed photos of the GT3 version. - John

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

Thanks for your comments! I am learning a lot with this project!

With the diffusers in place, the engine will barely be seen, but I applied basic painting/weathering to the area anyway:

And here´s the exhaust system finished (I will install the exhaust tips later):

In the next post I will show you the finished chassis with the suspensions installed. Thanks for watching!

looking great Sam - I like your work on the engines and exhaust - the heat shield foil looks great too - a nice touch - to bad the diffuser covers so much - John

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

Finally, I installed the suspension pieces and finished the chassis! When I glue the new diffusers in place, almost all the detail will be hidden, but I did some improvements anyway.
I used Hobby Design brake discs and calipers and added brake lines. I covered the inner wheel arches with carbon fiber decals and scratchbuilt new shock absorbers and springs:

With some photoetched bolts and nuts, the chassis is now done! I will install the new diffusers after the body is in place:

Now, on to the body painting and final assembly!

Re: 2011 flying lizard porsches

Sam01 - this all looks great - I've also made the brakes from the HD PE set, but I used the outer disk pieces that had the drilled holes in them instead of the slots. Do you have a part number for those calipers? I've been looking for something to replace mine with - I got SMS brake set but the calipers are too small. - John

Of course John! The number is HD03-0006

The calipers are really good and the kit includes decals and photoetched detail.

Thanks Sam - I really appreciate you sharing what you've done - I can only hope that mine will come out half as good as yours - John
