It sold for $4,455,000 million last year at Pebble Beach The famous Duesenberg was the top-selling car at the Pebble Beach Auction and set a world record as the highest price ever paid for an American automobile at auction. It was also the fourth highest price paid for a collector car at auction in the last decade. A Duesenberg won the 1921 French Grand Prix.

Duesenberg won the Indianapolis 500 in 1922, 1924, 1925, and 1927.
Arthur Thurman and riding mechanic Nicholas Molinero, posing for the official photograph after qualifying for the 1919 Indianapolis "500". Thurman was killed and Molinero critically injured when they crashed in the third turn on the 44th lap of the race.  Arthur Thurman’s Duesenberg after the fatal crash at Indy.
