Opel Astra DTM HELP NEEDED
When you screw the doors on the roof with the hinges closer to the middle you can't open them. You can only open the doors when you put the hinges closer to the doors. Is this correct Cause it's making me crazy the last 2 hours.

Do they give you 2 different options for positioning the screws?
I don't know this kit, but I would have to say to look at what the instructions say, often if there are 2 options for something, it will tell you what the option is for - like 'doors fixed closed' and 'opening doors' Ray

NO, There are no instructions about that in the manual. It's says that you only have to put the tiny screws in the right holes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Bart, do not tight those screw up. You have to let the metal hinge slide in and out to open and close the doors.
Hope you understand it.

It's very tricky to get he screws just right, not too loose and not to tight. I gave up and tightened them with the doors up. The hinges hsould have swung out and away in one motion like the real car.

Just a thought, but if you put some Petroleum Jelly / Vaseline on the hinge, would that help make the doors open more smoothly?
The reason why I suggested this was because I use Vaseline for the wheels of Tamiya kits and they rotate more freely without the risk of the dowel in the wheel snapping. |
