Battery Relocation Kits???

I am preparing to install my turbo kit but forgot that I need to relocate my battery inorder to place the filter in its place....Anyone know of any good kits or parts??? and tips on how I should go about doing it??

take it to a mobil electronics/audio place. they should do everything for like 500 bucks, if they know what they are doing,

whoa, 500 bucks is crazy to relocate it. should cost around 60-100 dollars.

That's low. Parts alone should run about $100-150 depending upon how sano you want it to be. Add $100 or so if you don't do it yourself.

It's crazy, but I can see why they would quote that. It's simple, yet it's not. It can get really time consuming to do a really good job.

Woaaa you should be able to do it for cheap...and you dont need to buy a kit...cable, some battery terminals and a box...

What I also did on mine is use a battery disconnect switch that can be purchased from JC Whitney. I was a little worried about this switch being exposed so I went to the local friendly radio shack and found a black box that is used to put circuit boards in. I mounted the switch on the inside and cut a whole on the side for the wires to come through. It basically protects someone from touching the switch and possibly shocking themselves and also protects from any water that could splash up there.

ummm I don't understand how you can order 2....anyways let me know how much and so I can also check out your car....The kit I was looking at is only $43.00 from Summit...part # SUM-G1200A

i didnt order the plastic battery box that you are looking at though...they wont allow that on tracks, at least for the organization that i go with.
anyway, i have the black aluminum battery box from summit for $89.95 and the cable kit for $43.95 i think. If this is not what you are looking for, i'll just go ahead and return it.
tips on how to do it...rather simple actually, takes about 30mins to do. hardest part would be after you put the battery to the back, you need to somehow tighten down the fuse box cuz it'll just kinda sit there after the battery is gone (the fuse box is attached to a bracket that connects to the battery in the front).

Is that a sealed box Luke? Some places require a sealed box with a vent that terminates outside the car.

I suppose it could be done in 30 minutes, but not my car. I have a couple of hours invested just in routing the cables and I still don't have them secured under the car yet. This includes no time for removing the battery, drilling and bolting to hold the box down, and making connections.

How long it takes depends upon how sano a job you want. Mine will end up with only about 2" of cable showing (per terminal) inside the trunk. I also have the cables routed and tucked really nicely under the hood.

oh yeh..my's pretty messy right now...i need to find more time cleaning it up.
i guess it'll take longer than 30mins, i was just emphasizing that it's an easy job just takes time to make it perfect. my box is only secured with 1 bolt too cuz the place that i have it on is above my muffler and if i want to tighten it with more bolts, i need to remove my muffler, heatshield...trouble.

I just went on the inside...its worked great for me...and probably less corrosion and nobody can cut your battery cable from the outside.

Hehe. I agree with your point though Luke. Not terribly hard or frustrating. A sano job can be time consuming, but if you can wire a stereo, you can relocate a battery with your eyes closed.

Is your battery box sealed or not?

My box for my WestCo is sealed and vented even though it's not necessary. It's mainly to make Bubba at the track happy.

Oh yeah, and removing the heat shield and dropping the muffler is easy, but mildly annoying. I couldn't quite locate my box where I wanted because of the frame rail the bumper mounts into.
