Transmission game
Hello out there. Am considering purchase of 2010-12 Transit but have read reviews @ Edmunds and other places where the 4 speed automatic used in these is prone to fail. Does anyone know whether Ford used just one model in these years and what that model # is? Thanks

My sister has a 2019 Transit and is currently engaged in a battle with our local dealer as well as Ford over the failure of the right front axle failure. Currently she's on her third axle. The second one failed after only 40 miles on it with the first, and original one failing after only 29000 miles on it.

Just wanted to chime in here about the transmission issues most if not all are speaking about. At first our 2020 Connect was having to deal with the same issue. But I took a chance on using the Valvoline Dex/Merc ATF with the lubgurd shudder fix. We've been doing this for 3 years without issues. However one will need to drain fill the fluid every 30K miles give or take. Our Next fluid drain/fill is due soon.
