Service Manual 1994 Ford Escort LX Wagon

Thanks for the great site everyone!

I am in need of a service manual for a 1994 Ford Escort LX Wagon as well as any motor diagrams of the engine, A/C compressor, etc...

I need to add freon to my A/C and heard you could get a kit from Advance or Napa and do it yourself. Is this true?

It is true, but most manuals will not show you what to do as they recommend taking the car to be serviced professionally.
However, just go to the store and look at the instructions that come with the kit to see if out can figure out what is what. Either get a kit that comes with a pressure gauge or buy one separately.
If you have any doubts, pay to have it serviced.

Be aware that you can only successfully (without causing further damage) add refrigerant to your system ... IF YOU STILL HAVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT LEFT IN THE SYSTEM! If all the refrigerant has leaked out ... go to a specialist.
