Super GT Car Stands?

I've tried to look for pics, but they must be in books only. I need to find out how cars are kept when the wheels are off the car. Do teams use the air jacks to keep the car up in the air? Do they use more of a "stand" type of thingy? Or something in between?

Please shoot me an email. I'm thinking of starting a project where I display a car with the wheels off to show off the brakes and interior.

Thanks!

Daniel

Re: Super GT Car Stands?

The teams each use different car stands. If they work longer on the cars they never use the airjacks (appart from lifting the car and afterwards use a normal or special electrical pump jack to crank them up and place some stands under the car)

Search on this site. A lot of SuperGT pics with paddock pics aswell, just search through the different races

http://car.nifty.com/cs/catalog/car_...20208553_3.htm

Under "SUPER GT第4戦 セパン 決勝 GT500"
you see 4 tabs with each race, the last 3 are the picture pages

Hope this helps you further

Re: Super GT Car Stands?

Great idea for a display project — showing the brakes and interior with the wheels off would look awesome.

Most race teams don’t rely on air jacks for long-term display or storage. Air jacks are mainly for quick pit work. When the car is stationary for a while (garage, shop, or display), they usually place it on solid jack stands under the chassis or designated lift points. Some teams also use flat “setup stands” or blocks designed specifically to support the car safely and evenly. For a display, sturdy low-profile stands would probably be your safest and cleanest-looking option.

Also, if you need space to work on the project or store parts while setting it up, having a storage unit can really help keep everything organized. Something like https://selfstoragerichmondky.com/
could be useful if you’re looking for extra room during the build
