Ford E250 Shift lever stuck, Wont start. Tried everything.

I have a 2009 Ford E250. The key will turn but the car won't start and no noises happen. The shift lever will not move from its position. The indicator stated the van in reverse however I am able to move the van forwards and backward easily. I've tried doing all of the most common recommended fixes including checking the brake light switch (it's fine) and checking for loose bolts under the steering column. And disengaging the shifter by pulling the black knob under the steering column to ove that shifter. That didn't work either. I also tried rolling the van in either direction and trying to shift out of where it is stuck which did not work. I took it to a mechanic a week ago. They replaced the wheel and the attached parts and that seemed to fix the issue for about a week and now it has happened again. I am truly at a loss for what the issue could be. Any help would really be appreciated.
