Grinding/howling noise 2011 Camry Hybrid
Hello all,
I have a 2011 Camry Hybrid, super clean etc… there’s an intermittent grinding/howling noise that comes from drivers rear at low speeds and over bumps; like speed bumps etc… it’s loud and very annoying lol I’ve attempted to have it diagnosed at Toyota dealership and mieneke, to no avail and they say it’s not a wheel bearing issue. Toyota did state that it could be a backing plate issue because it goes away once I apply the breaks?? On another note, had all struts replaced, all are visibly the same except for one on rear passenger side, it’s a teardrop shape at the top. It’s unrelated I know to the grinding issue, but does it matter if there’s a different strut apart from the other three. The car sits properly and everything so yeah… thank you all 👍🏻iCloud link for video |

Re: Grinding/howling noise 2011 Camry Hybrid
It doesn't look like your video link posted. Without hearing the sound you're referring to, it might be worth using a bit of aerosol white lithium grease and spraying the various rear suspension bushings, or using a needle tip on a grease gun, to see if lubricating one of the rubber bushings changes the noise.
Did the dealership and Meineke both hear the noise you are referring to? -Rod |
