No engine turn-over, despite new parts
I have a 2003 Kia Spectra that doesn't start. Right now, battery is charged, replaced the starter, and all fuses are good. Turning the key activates all accessories, such as window and radio operation, but when I try to start the car, the rest of the dash lights up, and there is not even an attempt at engine turn-over. Please advise.

Re: No engine turn-over, despite new parts
Could be something like neutral safety switch, especially since there isn't even a click.
Have you tried putting the vehicle in neutral and starting it? You could also (with help from someone inside holding the brake) try crossing over the starter relay to see if it cranks.

Putting it in neutral started it. But I don't understand why. Could you explain?

Re: No engine turn-over, despite new parts
It could be the vehicle isn't sensing its all the way in park. You could try "slamming" the shifter into park to see if it starts.
