Failed Smog in CA
Hey guys
Went to the smog shop today. Unfortunately i didn't pass. The smog tech said I only failed in 1 area and that is the 15MPH test. He said I barely failed, every other category No problem. I asked him what he think the problem might be he said he thinks EGR valve but he wasn't sure. Any ideas or solution? I don't really know what these number mean. maybe a smog tech here might know Test 15mph RPM 1861 %CO2 MEAS 11.4 %O2 MEAS 5.2 HC ( PPM ) MAX, AVE, MEAS 108, 45, 17 CO (%) MAX, AVE, MEAS 0.80, 0.18, 0.00 NO ( PPM ) MAX, AVE, MEAS 1166, 427, 1473 |

Re: Failed Smog in CA
Your vehicle NO (Nitrous Oxide) emission exceeds the set standard. NO is a by product of gasoline combustion, and high number indicates a mixture issue. The other numbers look ok. Possible issues include low compression, a carburation/injection system problem, a vacuun leak, etc.
