Fusion Newbie

I own Dodge and Toyota vehicles so I've been a regular on those forums for a few years. I took the plunge and decided to buy a used 07 Fusion for my daughter after reading a bunch of good press about them. Judging by my research and the lack of posts here I think I made a good decision. Time will tell. Just wanted to check in and say hi and wonder if there's anything in particular I should be keeping an eye on. Cheers!

Re: Fusion Newbie

I'll consider the lack of responses a good sign. That and the repair history info makes me think I made a good choice.

The fact Ford has managed to stay away from the government blood suckers and our money, unlike Government Motors and Fiatslyer, was a big factor in my picking a Ford. Ford appears to be the only domestic car maker with it's act together. I do fear though that eventually the new socialist government is going to be putting pressure on GM and Fiatslyer to pay back the 70+ billion bucks loaned to them and back special deals to the public that Ford won't be able to compete with. Time will tell.

Re: Fusion Newbie

The chrome peels on the interior door handles. I've seen two or three where the seat belt buckles don't like to latch quite right, and one that a speaker got damaged on. I'm a ford tech, and those are my warranty horror stories for fusions....oh, and one stupid guy didn't change his oil for 30k, but I won't hold the car responsible for that.

Re: Fusion Newbie

Back here 9 years later for two reasons (1) Have early Fusions had a history of exhaust manifold failures? Mine is cracking at the pipe welds to the flange creating a leak and exhaust noise. $1000 estimate to replace (California spec) (2) If you're still around i a n112784, I was born and raised in Michigan City. 75 Elston grad.
