First US Automobile
120 Years Ago On This Day - 21st Sept (1895) The first US car manufacturer Duryea Motor Wagon Company, founded by Charles Duryea and his brother Frank, unveiled a one-cylinder "Ladies Phaeton", in Springfield, Massachusetts. It is considered the first successful petrol-engine vehicle built in the US.
