1/24 Tamiya Alfa Romeo GTV

I'm one day too late to participate in AFMOTY 2014 now, but entering this model into the contest would have been a stretch anyway: it was completed in 2011 and has been to a few exhibitions in Finland, but I never could find the time or the inspiration to take a sufficient number of photographs for a post on AF. The first pic here was taken in 2012, the outside pics — in 2013, and, finally, I took the remaining ones this morning.

The model itself is quite simple and was intended as an OOB build to relax after some more challenging projects. It did, however, give me a whole lot of problems during the painting stage, when I polished through the clear and had to repaint both quarter panels and one of the doors (not sure which one anymore). The kit had also had a squashed roof when I got it, so I broke an A pillar while straightening the roof, broke it again during painting, and broke it the third time during the final assembly. I cut out the side windows to avoid putting any stress on the pillar again. Apart from that, the only modification to the kit was the replacement of the rear springs with ones made from wire (not visible in the pictures anyway).

Thanks!

It is some Hyundai color, I don't know the name of it. I may have the code written down, but will only be able to check that in a couple of weeks. I'll post the code here if I find it.

Spectacular finish! Looks a bit like Mazda's Copper Red.

You can't even tell that you broke the A-pillar or had to repaint certain panels...both tough things that are hard to hide. Commendable job!
