Morris Mini Cooper

New projects from me. I always wanted to build this Mini Cooper, and now I joined a groupbuild on SPC forum I can finally start on this one.

It's the nice Tamiya kit which is build by many of us I think.

The original wheels are very small and boring, so I want nice period wheels on this Mini. I found some cool wheels in a AMT VW Scirocco modelkit. They look very similar to Alleycat wheels which are used on Mini's very often. I also made new tyres by cutting some low profile tyres and glue them together so they fitt around the wheels.

For the color I choosed Royal Blue Saphire from Toyota.

Re: Morris Mini Cooper

This week I sanded the body and scribed out the panellines.

Today I sprayed the primer and sprayed a couple light coats of GT Silver. After a few hours drying, I added maskingtape to mask of the stripes. After this I sprayed the Royal Blue Sapphire.

It felt like christmas while I was removing the maskingtape.
