I'm trying to stop this beeping
My brake light came on when I hit the curb driving earlier. When I took it to a brake specialist they said there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with either the brakes or the sensor. We topped the fluids off and the noise still persists--it's absolutely maddening. I was told to stop the sound I would have to take apart the dash and then disconnect the buzzer. It sounded easy enough, but I have absolutely no idea how to remove the dash. Where do I start?
FOr reference, my car is a 99 Olds model 88 |

Re: I'm trying to stop this beeping
Which brake light, the RED brake light or the amber ABS brake light?
Not sure what beeping sound you are talking about......same sound as say, leaving your keys in the ignition(off position), and opening the door? |

Re: I'm trying to stop this beeping
The light that comes on says "Brake(!)" in red, and the sound is the same one you described, of the door being left open (or keys left in the ignition).

Re: I'm trying to stop this beeping
Yes. I also disconnected and reconnected the battery, but all that did was reset my clock.
