Here's some clip from Helsinki, watch the part 1.22-> where JJ's coming the place where we sat. The lef-right seing from the helicopter... You really catch the sound before turning left.... ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlwCIpvdya4 I still say, the F1 will be remaining to me one of the best supercars ever build, no matter how fast todays supercars are, the layout of F1 is so super special every angle when you look at it, out and inside. And the sound of that V12 makes it more than perfect.

Re: New McLaren Dealer in Auckland, New Zealand
Did anyone see Ayrton Senna's MP4-4 while they were there, and if so, did you spot the chassis number on the inside of the cockpit?
Heading up next weekend for a look |

Re: New McLaren Dealer in Auckland, New Zealand
I believe I saw it, that or a very similar one. It was inside the McLaren dealership itself (not next door in LEXUS like the roadcar f1's) which was locked, so didn't get a very good look from the other side of the glass. So no chassis shot

It is chassis number 4, which Senna didnt actually race. (Wouldnt know if he did testing in it though, but he never took part in an official race weekend session in it eg practice, qualifying or race) It won Monaco, Mexico and France with Prost. The only 2 examples that are in running order is Chassis 6, which is another ex Prost car, stickered in Senna livery, and ran at Goodwood with Bruno Senna before it broke. A friend too a photo of this at Goodwood in 2010, but it had the chassis number taped over. Maybe to throw off the train spotters?? The other, which is a legitimate Senna raced in and winning car is Chassis number 1. Which was restored to running condition just the last year or so! I think this is the one that used to be in the national motor museum in the UK in a Prost livery funnily enough. Now it wears Senna stickers. Chassis 2 is in private collectors hands, and Chassis 5 is owned by Honda and is in their museum in Japan. Chassis 3 is in the Donnington Collection, it is the only MP4-4 to have not won a race, but Senna did use it during the race at Rio in 1988. Also there is a show car hanging from the wall of the Marconi museum somewhere, carrying the number 1 on the nose cone. Never raced, never tested, never run. Purely a show car. No MP4-4 currently floating around carries a Prost sticker job anymore. - Great for the marketing department! Happy to be corrected on any of the above from McLaren etc if in correct. |

Re: New McLaren Dealer in Auckland, New Zealand
One P1 on its way to NZ has been completed.
Have seen some pictures of it now, and it looks great! Hoping to go visit it in late June when it arrives at its new home. |

Are you able to share them? I must say all the guys at the dealership have been amazingly friendly and generous with their time when I've been up there. Quite a refreshing attitude. Hopefully the P1 will get some floor time for a general look with the 650S demo. |

Re: New McLaren Dealer in Auckland, New Zealand
Again showing how good the guys are up at the dealership when I was up in the weekend they gave me a heads up they'll be the headline stand at 'Big Boys Toys' in November. They'll have a few 650S' there as well as the public unveiling the P1 in NZ!!
Ticket link: http://www.bigboystoys.co.nz/ Can't wait to see the P1 in the flesh finally! |
