those devises are there for a reason, TO KEEP YOU FROM BLOWING UP YOUR MOTOR! on an SL2 at 124MPH in 5th gear you RPMs are over 5000. you should not drive at that high of RPM for any length of time. why the hell do you need to go that fast anyway. if you want to drive 120+ go buy a sports car, not a saturn.

Re: What can i do to get rid of the govener on my Saturn?

every now and then you may find one PCM where the limiter is not set where it should be, somewhere during the programming the computer "forgets" to flash the data. you should not beable to go that fast, the stock powertrain isn't that strong. do me a favor, for you and your car's sake, try to keep it below 124. normally it is 124 for the SC@

Re: What can i do to get rid of the govener on my Saturn?

I have a 97 Saturn SL-2, i have the speed limiter problem, no rev limiter, its manual, lookin for an easy and cheap way to go faster than 107 mph so i can keep up with my bud's del sol, i've got him up to 107 then he pulls away and i start goin back down haha. Saturnspeed.com is a good resource, i just couldn't find anything last time i looked. On another note, if anyone wants a good race sometime and is in the Lehigh Valley, Eastern PA, let me know

Maybe if you jacked the front wheels of the ground? Your (Governer)
in the 95 sat sl2 kicks in about 103 mph and about 109 for the 95 sc2. So unless you have it removed or altered by a tech. I don't see how you accomplished 130mph. At 6800rpm in final gear, your rpms will drop and you won't have the power to push anymore until it kicks back in until about 98mph!

Re: What can i do to get rid of the govener on my Saturn?

My 05 Ion has no problem making 100+ but that's with a cold air intake, full exhaust system, 2 chips. But I also can't floor it in Drive. I have to start in Low. Flooring it in drive results in the Low Power light coming on and no power to the motor. Only goes about 30 mph at 2 rpms. Any solutions?

Good night, this post is nearly 9 years old, I'm surprised you commented on it My guess is a problem with how your car was chipped.
