Is it a cobra?

My cousin and I were discussing whether or not this '99 mustang was truly a cobra because of the fact it said "MUSTANG" on the bumper instead of "COBRA." However, it does also have the SVT Cobra emblem on the back. Is this a cobra?image.jpg

Anyone could put any emblem on the back, open the hood and find out whether or not that Mustang's a Cobra :-)

Other thing you can look for on a '99 is that Cobras had round fog lights while GT's had more rectangular/trapezoid fog lights. Changing that would be a lot harder than changing the badge.

The '99 Cobras still said "Mustang" on the back, but had the SVT badge on. 2001 is when they started saying "Cobra" on the back.

The tail lights are another give away cobras had orange turn signals in the rear and from what i hear those are pretty rare to find replacements. i had a 99 cobra vert and yes you can phone (1-800-ford-svt) and they can help you verify it for you the other way is if you have a SOHC or DOHC.

I had a 1999 and it had cobra on the bumper i guess only a few had them as when i did a vin check it said it was a gt and when i phoned svt to get my certificate they sent me it and a complete build list and the Cobra bumper was an option it had
