2003 Kia Sorento wont shift into overdrive and ac/heater has no play
First the important one. I have a 2003 Kia Sorento with around 180k on it. It is running about 4000 rpm and wont shift into overdrive on the highway. Burning alot of gas obviously, i took it to a limited knowledge mechanic and he checked the fluid and said it was dark. What inexpensive thing can I do to solve this one. Be nice. Also, the a/c and heater does not come on at all. The mechanic said he checked the fuses and they were good. Its not hot yet but will be and will need the heater in the winter. Please help. thanks.

Check engine light on? Any codes? Possibly a sensor problem. As for the heater and Ac not working did your mechanic check for a bad relay?
