Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

I was wondering if the McLaren F1 GTR has the same dimensions on the wheels as the GTR LM?

the GTR LM had
Front: F MXX3 275/35ZR18
Back: R MXX3 345/35ZR18

Re: Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

yes as far as I am aware they both used the same rims and for a road going GTR they would be the same tyre, race cars naturally wore a variety of tyre types depending on track, surface and conditions with possibly some slight shift in width and to a lesser degree aspect ratio.
No doubt there is a regular on here who can give you the exact low down on most of the variations.
The rims are 18" x 10" Front and 18" x 13" rear though I also believe some had 9 1/2" wide front rims?

Re: Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

Struggling to find a wheel dimension. Slick tires for the early GTRs, which will probably not help you, were:

255/635-18
315/670-18

I would expect the wheel sizes to be identical to the F1 LM - Driving Ambition lists them as:

10.85" x 18" Front
13.00" x 18" Rear

Our representative from McLaren might be able to help reunite the wheels with the original car, or perhaps be interested in a spare set for their stock?

Dare I ask what you would be expecting for them?

Re: Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

Wheel offset may also be an important concideration, I do believe there is a difference between the 95 and 96 spec OZ chrono,s used on the GTR,s McLaren MSO will be able to give you the correct info

Re: Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

thanks to you all!

I don't really know what they are worth, they are in unused condition (with some traces of oxidation) they have been in the garage for some years

I will probably contact McLaren and ask what they think

Re: Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

Price is a tricky one as apart from collectors of F1 parts the only other car they will fit is the F1, I approached OZ a few years ago and they were asking about £5,000 a set on the proviso that I bought 10 sets, they were not willing to sell them in any quantities less than that. The danger is that Magnesium degrades over time and they will need thoroughly testing with both Xray and Ultrasound I believe no doubt MSO can give you a more detailed picture.

Re: Wheel dimension for McLaren F1 GTR?

Are they really for #11R, or is that the OP's assumption as there is '11' on the wheels?
