Talking Walter (wkma7six) Says 'Hi!'

I talked to Walter on the phone yesterday; he wants everyone to know he's still alive and well. He's busy with a new job, and his computer died, so that's why he hasn't posted much. He must have access from somewhere, just limited...

He said he's been too busy to work on his models much, either...

He said he's working at a place that makes models/prototypes/plans for toys and movie props! What a cool job!! :coolguy:

Hey guys, I'm back

Hello to everyone who remembers who I am. I've been gone for a long time, but have returned. I just purchased a new computer and I'm loving every bit of this machine-my old one (5 years old) recently stopped working. I've also purchased a 2000 Chevrolet S10 Xtreme truck. I've got many new toys for the new year.
BTW, I'm very happy with my new job and thank you guys for your concern/ kindness in my absence. I went through AF withdrawal for about 1 and half months since working. I still have many kits waiting to be built and have added more to the growing collection. Lets hope I can work a schedule to get some things done.
Hope everyone got some kits/supplies they all wanted for the holidays. My ex-GF bought me a 1/16 scale Fujimi Koenig Lamborghini Countach for X-mas. Gotta love her for supporting my madness.

Out of all these great happenings recently, one bad thing did happen when my computer died. I lost all the hard drive data from my progress pictures and all the reference i've dug up for the past 3 years related to this hobby. I tried to retrieve the data by installing my old HD to my new computer and it said all data was corrupted. One lesson learned is that you need to back up all data saved on your computer! Oh well!

-Walter

Welcome back, sounds like you've had fun. When you said you got a 200 Chevy S10 XTreme, did you mean a real one? 1/16 Countach huh? Sounds good when will you start on it? Tough luck how your old HD stuffed up and you lost all your pics etc, oh well its always good to start fresh

That has GOT to hurt. Think I'll go home and make sure my backup CD-R of my reference material is still ok and maybe make a second copy ;-)>

Glad to hear about all the rest!

Yes, it is a real 1:1 year 2000 model Chevy Xtreme s-10 extra cab with 38,000 miles on it. I've always loved this truck and have two plastic models waiting to be made just like my new full size. I found a Lindberg 1/20 scale S-10 Xtreme about 3 years ago. Never built it though.
Don't know about the Countach yet, but it is # 400 of the to do list

Glad you can see gathering new data all over again is Positive thing. It hasn't hit me too hard yet, but when I need reference pics and proof of my past progress- I WON'T HAVE THEM!
Oh well -Walter
