2003 Aviator unable to get the computer to read OBD
The check engine light came on and has stayed on, I went a advanced auto to get the computer reading they were unable to get a reading. I then took the vehicle to a friend of mine who has a nice computer like the one the car dealers use , Still not luck. He said it may be a fuse blown that's not allowing to read OBD. Any help on what I should look for or what to do?

Re: 2003 Aviator unable to get the computer to read OBD
I realize this is an old thread, but recently acquired a 2004 Aviator and started looking over this forum. The Aviator forum doesn't appear to be very lively so it doesn't take long to review.
Anyway, I suspect the scan tools that were used are not up-to-date and probably do not cover the CAN protocol that your Aviator uses. Hope this helps someone in the future. I don't have any problem connecting to my Aviator with a up-to-date Autel DS708 or an Elm327 bluetooth adapter and Torque Free for the Android. -Rod |
