Body kits

so when you buy a body kit do you tell them what color to paint it or does it just come with the primer and you have to take it somewhere to get it painted?

Re: Body kits

It will depend on the company. Some (but not many) companies will custom paint for you - for a price, of course. Most companies will send you the kit either bare or primered.

Re: Body kits

some do, some dont. If you want a color change yes paint the whole car. If sticking with a stock color a good body shop can match the OEM color.

Re: Body kits

As long as your car's paint is "typical" and not pearlized, it should match pretty darn close - especially since the body panels won't be right up against the kit (a little gap goes a long way with color matching to the eye). But if you have custom paint, specialty colors (not stock), or anything else not-factory you may want to consider having the whole car painted to match.
