2000 Cherokee Sport Lift Kit ?
Ok I've decided that i want to lift my Jeep ..Why ?? Why Not !
I have no idea who puts out a good product. I'm looking for 2-4" lift since anything under or over that would be a waste. I can use my brothers shop so air tools. cutters -grinders and welders are not a problem. I'm looking for something thats a complete set and best bang for the buck. I'd would appreciate being educated in the lift kits you would recommend and why I would choose yours. Not trying to be a pompous azz --just turning 50 and looking to wake my little Jeep up a bit.. TIA Chris |

Skyjacker comes to mind, as does Rancho. There's lots out there but I'd stick with a better known brand. The major Jeep catalogs have a lot of choices....I'd start here

What size tires do you want to run? To me the main purpose of lifting a vehicle is to run bigger tires, because thats what increases your ground clearance, not the lift. So decide what size tires you want to run, then go from there.
That way you can build/order a lift to accommodate your selection.

Re: 2000 Cherokee Sport Lift Kit ?
Found a site, which I can't recall now, that sells OMU lift kits. Stands for Old Man Emu. Very extensive information not only about the product, but tech info. Of all the sites, lift kits I've searched, this one seems to be the best engineered and most complete bold on kit you can buy. I've a 92 Comanche pickup, 2WD, that I'm considering the kit for. Not for rock crawling, obviously, but for the ride. Seems their kit is engineered for comfort as well as lift and looks. A little pricey, something like 700 bucks for the complete setup. I highly recommend checking it out before going with Skyjacker or others that may not necessarily be full bolt on kits, no missing pieces.

Re: 2000 Cherokee Sport Lift Kit ?
I'm going with the Rough country 3" lift ordering this week with the full leaf packs. Its all bolt on ALTHOUGH every bolt you take out especially the rear shock upper mounts should be sprayed everyday for about a week with some P-Blaster to get them ready.
A small propane or MAPP gas tank will also do to heat them buggers a bit. The rear leafs can be a huge PITA to get out also but the lift is straight forward and seems to me like a good buy. Shocks Leafs Control arms Hrdware for around $600.00-I'm getting it at discount since I ordered through my brothers Auto Buissness and its about 75.00 shipping. http://www.xtremeterrain.com/3series...-02jeepxj.aspx |
