2002 Millenia Engine Replacement-2.5 L

Hi everyone!
I have to replace the 2.5 L engine in my 2002 Mazda Millenia.

When searching for the best price on a quality used engine, it seems that I find 2000 and 2001 2.5 L engines that are of a better quality and better price than the 2002 engines.

Was there a specific period that the engines were exactly the same, such as 2000-2002, meaning that I could use a 2000 or 2001 as the replacement, or is it absolutely necessary for me to get a 2002 2.5 L in order to do the replacement?

The 2.5L is the same from 1997 to 2002.
