Need help
a friend of mine is offering me a D16z^ that needs the head put on and i was wondering if it would be improving much from my d15b7

it depends...z1 or z6? It depends on what your after. It's basically a mini-me swap. You'll need to swap dizzy & ecu. I've learned through the years different strokes for different folks. Some people turning a wrench is easy, it's not big deal. Others don't turn a wrench & it's easier to actually upgrade to a different motor

If your b7 is still in proper running order and you are not looking to perform a full engine swap, I would suggest throwing the z6 (assuming it is one) head onto the d15 short block. It requires minor work, far less labor and with the higher compression will net you roughly the same hp figures that the stock d16 would. Its been done thousands of times, and you can find writeups all over the place. Also, you would still have the spare short block if you ever did happen to destroy one, or wear it out.
