Drivers side window has a mind of it's own
Hello All.
I have just acquired a 2006 five hundred with power windows. The drivers side window, if down a little, will go down to almost fully open when I try to move it up. I took it to Ford and they put in a new switch but it hasn't fixed the problem at all. Have any of you had a similar experience? I am thinking it has more to do with the motor than the switch but I will await your answers. Thanks, Rick. |

Re: Drivers side window has a mind of it's own
The problem you have is called bounce back and the fix is a new motor. there's a TSB on this problem (TSB 0608-12) so take the car back to the dealer that changed the switch, tell them there's a TSB, and tell them to credit the amount you paid for the first attempt (unless it was done under warranty) to the cost of doing it right. Here's the TSB:

Thanks Dodger48. I'll take it back to them along with the TSB. I really appreciate your help. Rick.

Re: Drivers side window has a mind of it's own
I've had exactly the same problem since the day I bought the car new. Learned to live with it. 5 years later it still does exactly the same thing. I think it's a design flaw myself.
