Angry 2001 Durango R/T Power Outlet Problems

I think they changed the body type after 2000 because I can't seem to fine the extra fuses for the power outlets. The fuses on the drivers side and under the hood are fine. Someone had told me that there is one other, but before 2001, it was on the other side of the fuse box under the steering column. Can someone please help me. We are going on vacation soon and I want to get this fixed without paying Dodge an arm and a leg.

Michele

Thumbs up Re: 2001 Durango R/T Power Outlet Problems

I foind it!!! It is directly behind the fuse block but can only be accesed from under the dash. It is directly above the emergency brake pedal and behind about four diffrent wireinig harnesses. You will need a flashlight and a good pair of needlenose plyers to get it done. There is 4 difrent fuses two 10 amp a 15 and a 20 the 20 is the one that you need to replace... Goodluck

Re: 2001 Durango R/T Power Outlet Problems

FYI, that "extra" fuse block is not present on 2001+ models. I found this out the hard way after spending WAY too much time in sweltering heat and 90%+ humidity trying to find it on my own '01 R/T. Never did find a fuse inside for the power outlets, although there's one in the block under the hood that looks like it might be the right one. (But in my case that fuse wasn't blown and my outlets still don't work, so I may or may not have another issue.)

Re: 2001 Durango R/T Power Outlet Problems

Guys:
I had intermittent issues with the outlets on my 2001 SLT,and the cure was a corroded connection on the bottom of the PDC or power distribution center under the hood.

You will want to disconnect the battery before you loosen it from the fenderwell, well and turn it over.
