Hello again,

one side is allready done.
There was a lot of stuff to do.The door did not really want to fit in the chassis.So i must use alot of putty.



In the middle of the door is a curb.This curb was 2mm to low to the frontfender.So i must use a lot of putty to make them look like a real car.



Also a big problem was the fitting of the door to the chassis.One side was ok,but the other side was a little to small.I use heavy file to make it big enough.



On this side is a lot of sanding still to do.
I wonder why on this side the curb looks pretty good?

The kit is really not one for a beginner.

P.S: Maybee i stop this WIP,because im getting a Edai Grip Lotus 72 1/8 scale for restauration in a few days.This really big scale model has priority.

and some years ago I started to help him with the body (assembling and painting). This kit is awful, so I've done many many corrections.

here enclosed are some pictures of an ex-works gr4 car (this is not the stradale version, is the real racing car).
Real thing, owned by a (lucky) friend of mine living in my town.

As u can see the biggest mistake in Doyusha model is on the rear wheel arch (look at those pics and look at your model).
I have the safari version, but already cloned in resin the wheels (rims and tires) to make the "anabolic" version.

Yes,the rear fender is wrong in the doyusha kit.
Im trying to get it close to the original.

Still a long way to the end........







The second layer of primer is on,but there always some parts who need more putty.
First i wanted to color all the parts before i put them together,but everytime i test the ftitting its always different.
So i decided to make the inside and then i glue it togehter.After that i mask the inside and will paint the outside.

I hope that works?

P.S: The backtrunk is glued.I had trouble with the hinge and so i fix them.My question the the www.pirelli-stratos.de team was not answered.They told me they had a helmetholder in the trunk and some meachnicalparts.
I ask for some engine pics,but the only thing i get was a papermodel from the car. :?

Hi,

here are some new pics.

Just made a new frontwindow because the old one was badly damaged.
I use 0,3mm lexan and simply cut them in the right shape.

Next was the sparetire.
Doyusha made 5 rims for the kit,but only 4 rubbers?
What did you do with a spartire without tire?
That´s the reason i made a resintire.Take a look. :mrgreen:






Next step will be the dashboard.The one in my kit is really bad made from the guy who sell the kit.A lot of work to do.
The seats are nearly finished.Only the semi-gloss-black is missing.They are made with microballs to made them "deeper".

Hi,

todey there are only 2 pics from the interiour.



The seats are only layed into the chassis,but not glued yet.
Im testing the selfmade bracket for the harness.
The firewall is made with cellular rubber and the control shifter was made by scratch.



The harness material is from Acustion and the belt is selfmade with Leukosolk.

Now i have to made a hand brake lever because the original one was destroyed by disassembling

Hi,

today a few fresh pics.

The interiour is nearly finished.Only some cable are missing.



The fire extinguisher become a new clamp and some details.
The handbrake lever was made by scratch.
I also made a intercom system with the 2 yellow cables.






Next step will be the dashboard.



The foreign owner made the dashboard really crappy.All the clear parts are blind.So i must make them by my own.

Question:
Did someone know the names of all the switches on the dashboard?
I wont to make a few nameplates with the right label.
Who know the right labels?

Fantastic work you are doing here, I'm glad you are sticking with it despite the poor fitment issues and incorrect fenders. The interior is awesome and I'm looking forward to what you do with the dash. AF sure is a great place where other modellers join in to help out.

Just made the second fire-extinguisher for the engine room.

I am happy with it,because its all selfmade by scratch.




By the way i filled up the 2 marks in on the bottom of the car.
