Angry 92 Acura Legend Brake Problem

Hello all, I have a 92 Acura Legend and the brakes have been acting funny on it. Sometimes they work perfectly, and other times they will push to the floor but still work. Here is the odd part I stopped the other day at a light and let off the brake to pull a little closer to the car in fornt of me when I pushed the brakes in to stop I had no brakes at all, needless to say I hit the car in front of me because I didn't have time to pull the E-Brake. Then on the way home in a curve I had the same problem, had to pull the E-Brake to slow down enough to take the curve. I'm thinking possibly there is air in the line, but the problem I have with that idea is that I would think the brakes would act up all the time just not part of the time. Anyone with any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I only paid 700 bucks for the car and don't want to spend a lot of money to repair the problem.. Thanks again for any help!

Re: 92 Acura Legend Brake Problem

This is a common problem when a master cylinder goes bad. Go to a parts store and purchase a rebuilt unit. Make sure you bleed the system after its installed.
If you can't install it Pep Boys will install one for you.

take a look at the master cylinder, usally when the master cylinder goes out its a leaking o-ring, so generally it leaks and you can see this under the reservior

Re: 92 Acura Legend Brake Problem

If you pump the brake the pedal it should come up off the floor. But, you need to replace the master cyl to fix this problem.
