2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8

This is the special edition series Dodge Challenger from Revell. It also says "new tooling" on the box. The kit so far has been a delight to build. There were only 4 mold lines on the body and little almost no excess plastic on any of the parts. It has been more than a year since I last built a kit so I wanted a simple build.
The body was airbrushed with Tamiya acrylic black (x-1) and some of the other parts need to be painted still. most of the engine is painted and there may be a few more details added to the interior.
The kit came with a very pittley little shifter and only a brake and acceleration pedal. So I took those off and I am adding my own acceleration, brake and clutch pedal that I nicked from another kit. I also added what looks sort of like a sequential gear shifter in place of the puny one from the kit. The two wheels on the left with the larger tires are the ones from the kit, and the other set on far right is from a donks kit. I don't know which ones I will use. I also plan to add the red stripe decals from the kit that go on the side of the body.
Any suggestings for wheels choice? I also thought about painting the rims black.
I would also be happy to entertain any questions regarding the kit, and any comments are welcome. It feels good to build another model kit and finally get around to making my first WIP thread. Please excuse my poor picture taking skills.

Re: 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8

The kit was a skill level two, just your typical revell car kit. However, I must say that I have completed it and the front and rear fascia did not go on without a fight, I had to trim away at the front fascia in order to get it to fit and the rear fascia is out of alignment. I left the model 99% complete and I am away at school now, but I will post pictures of it when I go home in a few weeks. The third rim choice up there is from a donks kit I had left over, the frist two rim options come with the kit. i went with the stock rims for now, the second choice that comes with the kit does not look good at all. Here are some pictures I took of those.

I like the rims in the second picture.but try and paint match the center section or just the spokes of the rims to match the color of the car...

Nice work, Revell's Tyres are so damned big and they really spoil the look.

Yes I agree with you da ashman. I ended up going with the stock rims for now, but I will likely change them. I will hopefully post completed pictures this weekend when I go home.

Re: 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8

nice work on those rims, they are perfect. I did not get a chance to take completed pictures but I am going home again soon for a week so I will get a chance to do it then. I think if I ever redo this model i will go for purple paint.

Re: 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8

Here is the 90% completed Work so far. I just need to add exhaust tips and mirrors which I will do later. I went with the rims not from the kit and colored the space between the spokes to match the car paint. I also included a picture of my corvette after its rim swap.
Thanks for all the suggestions. \
