advise on a gto

I am looking to get a gto soon. '05-'06. Just wondering if this car is good in the rain. Which tires would be best in these conditions? Also I live in the northeast where the weather is bad in the winter. Would this car be ok if I put nobby winter tires on it? I am thinking about keeping my awd suv just for maybe rainy days and during the winter. The only thing with my suv is it keeps costing me money to repair all the time b/c its really old with tons of miles. It is paid off though, but the whole truck has almost been replaced already. How is the GTO on mantainance? Thanks for the help.

Re: advise on a gto

The GTO is a fair weather car. If the winter conditions are harsh, best to drive something else.

Re: advise on a gto

I got caught on shear ice over passes on I-75 having to navigate up and down hills and had no problems what so ever keeping traction control on. I've not driven it in snow as she is garaged during the winter. I would assume the only time you'd have a problem is in deep snow. Other than that you're good to go...
