94' Rear Brakes

So, I've heard from a lot of people that if you drive in reverse and slam on the brakes, it will adjust the rear drum brakes automatically so that you don't have to jump out and adjust them manually and pass safety inspection... Can anyone verify that? If I can get away with doing that instead of paying to have them adjusted or doing it myself, I would rather go that way.

Thanks!

If all the self adjusting cables are hooked up properly and clean. If you have your foot on the brake pedal when backing up they should adjust for you.
