I have a 1989 suzuki side kick that even with a new battery I cant even get the lights or radio to turn on.

Is there a main fuse to the ignition and inst pannel if so where is it.

Re: Please Help with eletrical problem

Welcome to AF.

While I am fond of the Sidekick, I don't think its a 'muscle car', so I will move it to the Suzuki Sidekick subforum.

Also, I would ask if there are other electrical devices that have failed as well. Does the engine still run? Do the wipers work? Do the turn signals work?

If everything works except for the lights, have a look at the fuse panel. It should have a circuit breaker for the headlights and a fuse for all other running lights and dashboard lights.

In some cars, the headlight circuitbreaker is in the headlight switch itself. I am not sure about your car.

If nothing works, check battery terminals, wires and connections. A test light is very helpful in tracking down the problem.
