97 LS front caliper dust boot replacement.
Hi All,
I usually am over on the Grand Am Forum, but I now have an issue with my daughter's 97 LS. I just replaced the front pads and found that the calpier dust boot is torn on the driver side. I really don't want to rebuild the caliper if I don't have too. In looking over the Haynes manual it looks like it might be able to be done with out removing the piston but being that I have never done this before I am not sure. I would greatly appreciate ant input that I can get in regard to this. Thanks in advance. Dan |

Re: 97 LS front caliper dust boot replacement.
The piston has to be removed. I put a piece of wood in them and blow the piston with air.
The last few kits I priced are close to the price for a rebuilt caliper. Check with Auto Zone or Advanced. |

Re: 97 LS front caliper dust boot replacement.
I checked Auto Zone, they have a dust boot kit for $3.99 each side. I have already made arrangements with my buddy for Monday or Tuesday to go ahead and replace the boot. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again for all the input.
